A little about me:
My name is Jessica and I am 24. I live in Cascade, Michigan, my hometown. I am a graduate of Calvin College with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology (health/medicine). However, I am currently getting my degree in Fashion Merchandising (I started in January and I'll graduate in December). Why the big switch you ask? Well, because when you realize that God gave you a gift and a passion for something, you don't ignore it... You use it. God gave me a passion and gift for fashion, so, I'm ready and willing to use it.
I love fashion. In high school I did modeling for Pac Sun, Redken, Paul Mitchell, and Panopoulos. My work has been in magazines, I've directed photo shoots, and I've also been the photographer. I have been so blessed to have had these awesome opportunities which has helped shape me into the fashion designer I am today.
I love seweing. In high school, when it was cool to wear A&F and AE, I was sewing my own skirts, prom dresses, and clothes with the help of my mom and grandma. I would also spend my Fridays with my friends making jewelry and artsy things. Maybe this should have been my clue.
I love making people feel beautiful. In a world that thrives on making women feel ugly and worthless I am here to make women truly feel and believe they are beautiful. I have no problem being the one that breaks the molds of fashion and shakes things up a bit. That's just who I am. The fashion world say she's ugly, I say she's amazingly beautiful.
Thus, beauty is my goal in everything I make. I believe that beauty should not only be seen, but felt. Beauty should not only be seen in my clothes but felt in the woman who wears them. If she doesn't feel beautiful, I haven't done my job as a designer.
"Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it."
